Plus: Men's Basketball Goes Back-to-School with House of Victory
IN THEIR OWN WORDS:
SCOUT THIS by: DEVAN THOMPKINS
“Everyone has the same opportunity to impact the team, which means that everyone has the same responsibility to give their all for this team everyday. We’re all in this together, chasing our dreams, chasing that victorious feeling. Whether you’re a multi-year starter or on the scout team. You just have to keep getting better. You have to view each day as the opportunity that it is. I would know. I did.”
Defensive lineman Devan Thompkins shares his story, in his own words, about how getting the scout team assignment as a freshman was a wake-up call. Looking back now, he says it was the best thing that could have happened to him as a football player and as a person.
EXCEPTIONAL CATERING IN LOS ANGELES
MAKING BACK-TO-SCHOOL SEASON A BLAST
A group of House of Victory athletes including Men’s Basketball, Beach Volleyball and Men’s Water Polo helped make the back-to-school season just a little easier for thousands of local families at the Back-To-School Bash hosted by Dream Center and Kershaw’s Challenge, the charitable foundation of Clayton Kershaw. In conjunction with the Dodger legend, 3,000 backpacks were distributed to local students. House of Victory’s athletes were responsible for running the carnival games, bringing energy, fun and excitement to kids in attendance. The smiles, from both athletes and attendees, say it all: this was a perfect sendoff to summer! Click here or on the video above to see more from this incredible community event.
