CELEBRATING GREATNESS

Future Record Breaker

As we celebrate National Women in Sports Day honoring the women on and off the field that contribute to making sports so special, none are shining brighter than Caitlin Clark and JuJu Watkins.

This past week, Caitlin Clark of the Iowa Hawkeyes etched her name into the annals of NCAA history, breaking the all-time scoring record. With whispers circulating, the spotlight has shifted to House of Victory’s and USC's own JuJu Watkins who is catching the attention of fans and enthusiasts alike.

Thus far in her early collegiate run, JuJu has demonstrated an impressive scoring prowess, currently ranking as the second-leading scorer in college basketball. Averaging 27.7 points per game across 21 contests, she's on a trajectory that echoes the start of Clark's illustrious journey.

While it may seem premature to predict the future, the question arises: Could JuJu Watkins carve her own path to NCAA history? Health and unforeseen circumstances notwithstanding, the mere contemplation of such a possibility makes following USC Women's Basketball and JuJu's journey just that much more thrilling.

Make sure to catch all the latest action leading up to March Madness this season by getting out to support your men’s and women’s Trojans on the court.

NIL NATIONAL UPDATES

College Athletes Are Back In Consoles

Previously known as "NCAA Football," the series has undergone a rebranding to "College Football," bringing a modern twist to its celebrated legacy. The teaser, featuring actor Brandon Brown and the iconic Rose Bowl Stadium, has set the gaming community ablaze with excitement.

In 2014, legal hurdles seemed to bury the franchise after the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against EA Sports in the O’Bannon v. NCAA case. Fast forward to the NIL era's dawn in 2021, and the game's resurrection became legally feasible, but only with fair compensation for student-athletes.

Despite a seemingly quiet period from EA Sports in the past thirty months, last week’s teaser has reignited hope for the game's return. With a full reveal slated for May, fans can finally catch a glimpse of in-game footage and eagerly await the cover star announcement.

While the release date is still vague, EA Sports hints at a summer launch. Speculations suggest that finalizing rosters and compensating players featured in the game will follow the resolution of the spring transfer portal. As the pieces fall into place, the imminent return of the beloved college football video game feels more tangible than ever.

Stay tuned for updates and gear up for a nostalgic touchdown moment this summer!
