USC RECRUIT LEADS THE WAY IN NIL
Incoming freshman and four star linebacker Matai Tagoa'i is making headlines as one of the first athletes to accept a portion of his NIL earnings in Bitcoin. The highly touted recruit partnered with Strike, a Bitcoin app, to receive part of his compensation in cryptocurrency. This innovative arrangement, facilitated through House of Victory, signals a new frontier within the NIL space.
“This is a game-changer for me,” Tagoa’i said in a statement. “By taking part of my NIL earnings in Bitcoin, I’m setting myself up for long-term financial growth. I’m grateful to Strike, House of Victory and 3Point0 Labs for helping me take this step. I’m proud to be part of this innovative collaboration that’s redefining the future of college athletics and finance and hope to set an example for other young athletes to think about their financial future.”
Tagoa'i, a standout from San Clemente who chose USC over several top programs, sees this as an opportunity for long-term financial growth and hopes to inspire other athletes to consider similar arrangements.
WINNING ON AND OFF THE FIELD IN VEGAS
The Trojans closed out their 2024 football campaign on a high note both on and off the field in Las Vegas. Before their dramatic Las Vegas Bowl victory, the team partnered with The Just One Project to distribute holiday meal kits to local families in need, making community service a priority during the holiday season.
The charitable effort was followed by an unforgettable bowl game performance, as quarterback Jayden Maiava led USC to a thrilling 35-31 comeback victory over Texas A&M. Maiava threw a game-winning 7-yard touchdown pass to Kyle Ford with just eight seconds remaining, capping a remarkable 75-yard drive for the go-ahead score. Now, that’s Fighting On!
